The First Touchscreens
The roots of touchscreens can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s, when researchers at various universities were exploring the use of touch-sensitive displays. One of the first prototypes was developed by E.A. Johnson at the Royal Radar Establishment in the UK, who created a device that could detect the position of a finger on a screen. This technology was soon adopted by the military, who used it for missile defense systems.
